Four employees of a company arrested in Argentina on suspicion of money laundering

Buenos Aires, February 13 – Four individuals linked to Sur Finanzas, the company owned by Ariel Vallejo, were arrested on the order of Federal Judge Luis Armella of Lomas de Zamora. Prosecutor Cecilia Incardona, who is investigating the firm for alleged money laundering, ordered 14 raids that resulted in the arrests of the CEO's private secretary, Daniela Eliana Sánchez; the Asset Laundering Compliance Officer, César Zapaia; Juan Soler, an employee of the financial company; and the head of drivers, Juan Soloaga, as reported by the newspaper Clarín. According to Armella, the suspects “would have had a high degree of participation in the alleged operations, to which is added the economic power and the large amount of resources of the Sur Finanzas corporate group”, which is why they were arrested due to the procedural risks of flight. Incardona believes that the four detainees may have hidden and destroyed fundamental evidence for the case. At the same time, according to the material analyzed from the seized cell phones, dialogues were detected in which orders were given with the aim of taking computers to remove money belonging to the company's branches. On December 1, 2025, Sánchez ordered Micaela Sánchez to send a person to delete files from the images captured by the security cameras and to raise capital. In addition, Zapaia demanded to hide the devices before the procedures, while Soler spoke with Susana Hoffman, Head of Human Resources, and ordered her to go to the ATMs to disconnect the programs. Meanwhile, Soloaga was in charge of the logistics to transport a Toyota SW4 vehicle to a place called “covacha de civil”, where the plots and paintings were removed.
